Adoption Services

Adoption services include:

• Child Assessment: Counselling and evaluation of the child to determine whether the child is adoptable.

• Applicant Screening: Assessment of prospective adoptive parents to determine their suitability to adopt, as required by the Children’s Act, Act 38 of 2005.

• Social Worker Evaluation: Comprehensive assessment of the child and prospective adoptive parent(s) by a registered adoption social worker, in accordance with the Children’s Act, Act 38 of 2005.

• Adoption Report: Preparation of a detailed adoption report as prescribed by the Children’s Act, Act 38 of 2005.

• Pre-consultation (where applicable): R780

• Disclosed Adoption Investigation (all-inclusive) – Step-parents/Foster care: R10,500

• Non-Disclosed Adoption Investigation (all-inclusive) – All services until placement on RACAP, with completed background report on record/file: R10,500
